Argh.. I know I've gone a week before without updating but this time it was different. Vincent decided to take it upon himself to spill my cup of lemonade over my keyboard, thus making the keys sticky as all crap. After the first wash the f key was stuck, and it wasn't fun seeing ffffffffffffffffff going across the page constantly. Second wash and the keyboard was done for. So yay, no keyboard for a week. That was fun.
Thomas finally got a replacement keyboard from the church. It's an old fogey keyboard but it's one of those kind that have the loud keys. Like, it makes really loud clicks when typed on. I LOVE the sound of typing on a keyboard. The keyboard we had before was compact and thin, so now I'm just having to get used to the big bulky keys of this oldie.
Anyway, what's happened in the past week?
Rain.
Oh, glorious days of nonstop clouds, rain, and drizzle. Those three (or four, I don't remember) days were awesome beyond anything else. My favorite weather above any other. I'll take gloomy cloudy days over clear sunny days any day.
This past Sunday after church our Venue group (a church group for 18-30 year olds) planned to go out to Lake Meredith but the cool wet weather prevented us from doing that. So we all headed to Joab's (the worship leader of the church) house and had a day of tons of food, board games, video games, and a mean, MEAN game of Pictionary. It was guys against girls so it was brutal. (Girls won. XD) We stayed over there from about 12:45 pm to 7:00 pm I think. Somewhere around there. It was very much fun.
After we left Joab and Melissa's Thomas and I headed over to Jonathan and Penny's house to watch the movie Princess Bride. George and Theresa were there too. Thomas had never seen it because he thought it was a girly movie, even after I told him that it was funny and a cult classic. He ended up liking it a lot. I love that movie to bits. After the movie was over we checked the weather on Jonathan's computer and there was a line of storms coming, so we all called it a night and headed home. As usual, the storm fizzled out by the time it got to us and the bulk of it went to the south. At least we got a little lightning and thunder with some drizzle.
Two days later Wayne and Melissa Thompson invited us over for some pizza and Wii games. That was pretty fun, although Melissa and I didn't take part in the Wii tournament between Thomas and Wayne. We sat on the floor with our kids Vincent and Ava. Ava is SO CUTE. She was loving on Vincent and giving him 'kisses' (which was more like putting her face close to his with her thumb in her mouth, haha). All in all, it was lots of fun.
I was working on a drawing for our Venue Leaders (which got cut short because my keyboard died and it was hard to work on the drawing without it) and wanted it finished by Wednesday so I could show everyone but I ended up having to hastily finish it at the church while Thomas took my place in the cafe. I finally got it done just in the nick of time. Everyone LOVED it! I was so happy, I was hoping I did everyone I drew justice, and it turns out I did. =D I think they're going to use the picture for the Venue Myspace, but I'm not sure.
Anyway, today is now back to hot and mostly sunny. It IS Summer, after all. The past few days it was like middle to late Fall though. The temperature was cool, it was overcast, it was awesome. I can't wait until Fall gets here.
