Yesterday was fun in a hand basket.
Church was pretty cool. It was a really good message. Melissa Thompson needed some help running the cafe during first service so I obliged. At one point Thomas was running around the church with Leanne and interviewing/filming different volunteers around the church for a commercial later on. They eventually came to Melissa, her mom, and I working in the cafe. The did a short interview with all three of us about how we like volunteering and how long we had been doing it at Victory church. The video itself is going to be made into a big collaboration of volunteers commenting about their 'job' around the church. Then we had to dance randomly for the music part of the commercial. Haha, it's going to be awesome.
After church I just tidied around the house for a bit while Thomas went to some church get-together for the T.V. ministry people for an hour. Once he got back home we started to get stuff ready for supper. Soon after that Thomas(another Thomas, we'll call him Thomas K.) and Lacy came over with lots of ingredients to add to our meal. It was awesome having them over. Thomas K. is hilarious. Both him and Lacy are really fun to be around. Vincent LOVES Thomas K. to death, and always started fussing once Thomas K. turned his attention elsewhere, lol. After a few episodes from the Flight of the Conchords DVD Thomas K. and Lacy ran out to grab some dessert for us all to munch on. They came back with two pints of Haagen Daaz ice cream and a container of Baklava. Mmm, it all hit the spot. After making some hot tea for everyone and watching the last episode of the Conchords everyone decided to call it a night. We were told we were good hosts, so I'm glad they were entertained. lol.. We must have them over again and soon!
Earlier this morning I found an old video tape that I recorded using my friend Ashley's old bulky video camera. That was back in '98. It was very nostalgic/sad for me watch. My dad was on it, and it was during the carefree days of just playing around and having goofy fun. Ashley and I (and of course my sister Katie) were such dweebs. The video also brought to light how mean I was to my sister Katie. I had no patience for her and was pretty much a mean-spirited, horribly manipulative bully 24/7. Every time I think back about how I treated Katie when we were younger it drives a railroad spike deeper through my heart. I wasn't a very nice person in the least. If I could go back and change it all, I would. I'd also help around the house more, because throughout the video my mom asked us to clean the living room and clean the guinea pig's cage and I just ignored her. Argh.. The fact is, I can't go back and change anything, so moping about the fact that I can't isn't going to do anything but make me depressed. Even through the bitterness the old home movie brought up inside me, it was still nostalgic and made me really miss that time during my life. Youth is wasted on the young. I didn't know how great I had it until it was gone.
So, my sister in law Sarah pretty much has her wedding all planned out. I just have to go and try my dress on now to see what size I need. I'm excited. This is the second time I'll be a Maid of Honor. Er.. scratch that. I was the Maid of Honor at my mom's wedding, I'll be the Matron of Honor for Sarah's wedding. I'm married this time around, lol. I'm all giddy that I was asked. It really is an honor! When Thomas gets off of work from his second job we might go out to David's Bridal and try the dress on.
Vincent went down for a nap around 10 am. He's still asleep. There's a few dishes to be put away still and I have to transfer the laundry from the washer to the dryer, so I need to get those done before he wakes. FUN! Not really..
