The stage crew members and service coordinators of our church were having a small get together at John Stiff Park for some barbeque and a little fun. Thomas and I aren't actually apart of the stage crew, but his parents are and invited us to tag along. Free barbeque? No need to ask us twice.
After stuffing ourselves on burgers and hot dogs along with some awesome potato salad and baked beans we all started the game play with some water balloons that Theresa and George brought along. A whole laundry basket full, I might add. After seeing how far up we could throw the balloons without popping them and tossing them to partners without popping them we ran out and moved on to croquet.
Croquet is a crazy fun game. I always knew about croquet, and even played around with it a long time ago with my cousins (not by the rules, of course) with the balls and mallets but after getting taught how the game actually goes on Sunday it takes some serious strategy. And who knew that someone (if the game gets juicy several people) got to become a 'Monster' and kill people in duels?
I'm buying that game. Totally. Now we just need a yard to stick the brackets in. *sulk*
I'm pretty much fully over my cold that attacked me some days back. I'm so happy.. I cannot -stand- not being able to breath/smell, and I can't stand not being able to hear correctly. That seriously throws my equilibrium off. I think I ran/bumped into everything that's able to be ran into in our apartment while I was sick.
Oh, Vincent has now figured out his voice and has loads of fun screaming to hear himself scream. At the top of his lungs. It was über cute at first, but now our eardrums are pretty much shot. He's too young to be shown that screaming for no reason isn't tolerated, so I guess we pretty much have to sit it out. Hooray. >_< At least he doesn't seem to do it at stores and anywhere else we're at when we're out and about. Just at our house.
I think Thomas landed himself a second job. Not quite sure yet, but I'm 99.9% sure he got a second job at Chick Fil A. Not the most glamorous of jobs, but hey, when you need the money to the point of having to grab a second job, pretty much anything will suffice. We're waiting for a call from them. It sucks that if/when he starts this second job Vincent and I pretty much won't see him at all, but at least we'll be able to catch up on bills and start putting money aside to pay off lingering debts that hang over our heads menacingly.
